In a kaleidoscope of pixels and halftones, this book alternates visual records of the past with traces of a new and developing memory.
Our Interference Times: a visual record is the second in a series of books presenting the versatile artistic personality of Michael Stipe. In this volume, Stipe, together with the writer and artist Douglas Coupland, investigates how analogue culture, which represents our past, interacts with the digital world, our present and future.
From a visual point of view, for Stipe this interaction is distilled into what in graphic design circles is defined as a moiré pattern and literally an interference. The images presented in the book are drawn from the vast archive of photos taken by Michael Stipe.
After the presentation, there will be a book signing.
