Nonconformist, strange, dangerous, over the top, difficult to position. Ten women outside the box. Their objective is not to please others, but to please themselves.
Ten stories of unconventional, thorny, often nasty, revolutionary women. In the Arthurian cycle, Morgana is the powerful and dangerous sister of the far more reassuring king of the magical sword. Morgana is the ideal godmother of the women chosen in this book: Vivienne Westwood, a designer who revolutionized the fashion world, ex skater Tonya Harding, Shirley Temple, the Brontë sisters, Marina Abramovic, Caterina da Siena, Moana Pozzi, Moira Orfei, Grace Jones and Zaha Hadid.
Morgana is not a catalogue of exemplary women; on the contrary, they are witches for the women, unmoved from the schemes of the emancipated and feminist woman that, in full affirmation of pink power, nobody is afraid to describe. The Morganas of this book are active, each one in her own way, in dismantling the prejudice of the gentle and sacrificial nature of the feminine. Their stories are educational, non-edifying, they draw individual parables rather than collective paths, but they end up paradoxically moving the margins of the possible for all other women.
