A novel that is an act of compelling and radical indictment, the picture of what we have become.
A writer who has worked extensively in the world of journalism and culture suddenly realizes, as if by a strange epiphany, that in the last thirty years he has been a witness of a time that is now lost. Why has the world of Moravia and Calvino, Fellini and Sciascia disappeared? Why has quality journalism and the soul of publishers gone? He has decided to rebuild the reason why this has all happened. Through dense writing and the comparison with characters once essential and now almost on the margins of the cultural world, he tries to describe the end of an era, in a rarefied and worn-out Rome, which is indifferent to the changing of things.
A novel that is a stringent and radical indictment, the picture of what we have become. An ode to lost time, to a crystallised and claimed time: the story and glance of a man capable of passion, anger, irony, who narrates with harsh criticism and resistance, because sometimes memories are the only key to saving the future.
