An event to rethink the relationship between mind and matter through different approaches
The age-old and crucial discussion on the nature of mental and physical processes and an analysis of the relationship between them has kept philosophers and scientists busy for several centuries. Harald Atmanspacher, a researcher in philosophy of the mind, and the philosopher Roberto Casati will tackle these themes starting from “classic” theories – such as Cartesian dualism, idealism and materialism – arguing that none of those managed to resolve the intricate question of the relationship between mind and matter.

Giovanna Melandri President, Fondazione MAXXI

Roberto Casati CNRS – Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique
