A costume covered in silver bells, a flute, a voice. Emiliano Maggi transforms the exhibition space into a living, unexpected score.

Il Favolista (The Fabulist) is a performance created especially for Tragicomica, in which the artist sings and plays the flute, wearing a costume he made, entirely covered in silver bells. Before the sonata begins, the artist moves through the space in a choreographed dance. A slow, hypnotic entrance that draws the audience into a world suspended between dream and fable.

Words, vocalisations, bird calls and the tinkling of bells merge into a single sonic presence. The performance is in dialogue with Sonata per flauto grottesco, Maggi’s sculpture on show in the exhibition, and completes its meaning: where the sculpture fixes the gesture, Il Favolista sets it free in time, transforming the gallery into a place inhabited by voices, creatures and ghosts.
