Point, line, square, triangle, circle: five primal shapes that become bodies in motion, sound in space, living language.
Five Geometric Songs (2025) is a performance where five dancers bring to life costumes designed by the artist, each built around a geometric shape. Set to original music by Dom Bouffard, Adelaide Cioni’s geometric shapes move, multiply and interact with the fabrics, transforming the stage into an immersive environment. The starting point is simple: a pattern is a visible rhythm, and ‘drawing a pattern is like singing a song’.
What holds everything together is repetition, the same logic that constructs a visual motif and a musical composition. Music is an essential part of the structure, amplifying what the bodies and shapes already express. Five Geometric Songs explores the point where drawing becomes sound, and sound becomes image.
