In the final seminar in the series we shall be meeting MoDus Architects in conversation with Pippo Ciorra, senior curator at MAXXI Architettura.
Founded in 2000 by Sandy Attia (Cairo, 1974) and Matteo Scagnol (Trieste, 1968) the studio is based in Bressanone, in the Alto Adige region. On the contemporary Italian scene, MoDus Architects is a well-established firm that works across the board in the field of architecture: from small scale private residential projects to infrastructural works, from cogeneration power stations and residential complexes to public space, from landscaping to the interiors of the buildings it designs.
The attention paid to composition and a marked geometric-formal experimentation characterise the design research of a studio that never forgoes contextual dialogue and in the case of the works in the Alto Adige region, references to the architectural type forms of the environment in which it works.
Conversazioni d’autore. Six seminars with the protagonists of the MAXXI Collections
13 April – 9 June 2016
The cycle Conversazioni d’autore has been created with the intention of investigating the compositional themes in the projects and works exhibited in the museum gallery devoted to the display of the MAXXI collections through dialogues with their creators. On the basis of the works on show, the artists and the architects will guide the public on an exploration of the multiple meanings within the processes of making art and architecture, presenting their ideas through a fruitful and stimulating dialogue with academics and critics.
