Piazza della Rotonda (in front of the Pantheon) and Via della Palombella
The Back, Lin Yilin’s new performance project aims to establish a dialogue between the western culture of antiquity and contemporary China. A comparison between Rome, internationally recognized as the granitic cradle of law, and the new constitution of the People’s Republic of China, not perceived as theirs by the Chinese population in the last forty years.
The action is based on themes related to the research of the artist who usually uses artistic practice as a commentary on the social, political, and cultural conditions belonging to the globalized context.
A reflection that goes beyond China embracing the Western world also struck in the last forty years by powerful economic, political, social, and cultural changes: a West where constitutional values gradually lose adherence to reality.
