The poetical fair of the contemporary arts Le rose del Parnaso inaugurates the poetry season at MAXXI.
This project by Irma Immacolta Palazzo, based on an idea by Cosimo Cinieri, is an exploratiuon of the Mediterranean in three evenings of shows and encounters in which the protagonists are verses and elegies.
Poetry is the secret weapon for changing the world
An emotional path that, that thanks to the actor Cosimo Cinieri, here a “delirious pirate”, sparks the individual emotions of those who listen to and watch him and digs deep into sentiments that are hidden but latent, rooted but rarely expressed.

The national premiere sees the participation of an exceptional musical company joined by tammurianti, ethnic dancers and a chorus of children.
Ah pirati, pirati, pirati!
Pirati, amatemi e odiatemi!
Mischiatemi a voi, pirati!
La vostra furia, la vostra crudeltà parlano al sangue
di un corpo di donna che un tempo fu mio e la foia del quale sopravvive!
Naval Ode, composed by Pessoa in 1915 under the pseudonym Alvaro de Campos, is a short poem that weaves melancholy, nostalgia and an infinite love for life. Through the rhythm of the worlds, the use of onomatopoeia and the evocation of images of memory and myth, the poet accompanies us on an inner voyage exploring a summer morning lingering on a quay in Lisbon.
