A talk with Anupama Kundoo, an ideal bridge between the exhibitions Buone Nuove. Donne in architettura and Technoscape. L’architettura dell’ingegneria.
Anupama Kundoo is an exemplary case of the change taking place in the geographies of gender in architecture: having grown up in contact with the radical urban experiences of Auroville in India, and having graduated in Mumbai, she has developed a working method capable of combining her attention to materials and techniques from the Indian tradition with the ability to speak in an effective and current way to the global audience of architecture. At the same time, Anupama has drawn from her Berlin experience a great passion for structural ‘lightness’ and for the lessons of the great Italian engineers, starting with Pier Luigi Nervi.
