Khaled is Libyan, just over thirty years of age, and participated in the revolution to overthrow Gheddafi, but the revolution betrayed him. So, although he wanted to become an engineer and create a new State, he became a link in the chain that manages the trafficking of humans. He organises the crossings of the Mediterranean, and sends women, men and children from the southern borders to the detention centres. He does it for money, yet he does not feel like a criminal because he lives in a country where there seems to be no alternative to crime.
Francesca Mannocchi, journalist and documentary filmmaker who has been dealing with migration and conflict zones for many years, gives us back his voice. The story tells about a world in which the demarcation between good and evil gets thinner.
