stadiums stories: designing the mythStadiums. Back to the futurewith Moira Valeri
The festival, now in its sixth edition, was created with the aim of recounting the world of mental health in its multiple variations through images. The objective is that of introducing a broad public to the theme and allowing those who produce audio-visual material dedicated to or inspired by these issues to highlight creative resources and the quality of their work.
Announcing the competition for the 6th edition
The competition is free and open to works created by integrated production centres (centres working on mental issues) and videomakers and is divided into a section for shorts (maximum duration 30’) and one for longer works (over 30′). The competition is open to all genres (fiction, documentaries, animation and so on) as long as the work tackles the issue of mental health, explicitly or symbolically, with valid, original results. The deadline for the presentation of the works is 15 February 2016 and all documentation for participation (registration is free) can be downloaded from the official festival site www.lospiragliofilmfestival.org.
The prizes
A jury composed of specialists working in the social, psychiatric and film worlds will assign the “Fausto Antonucci” Prize of €1,000 to the best short and the “Jorge Garcia Badaracco – Fondazione Maria Elisa Mitre” Prize of €1,000 to the best longer work. Moreover, the festival will make an award to a figure from the film world who has recounted the life, sentiments and emotions of people and groups associated with the world of mental health. IN past editions awards have been presented to Sergio Castellitto, Carlo Verdone, Alba Rohrwacher, Marco Bellocchio and Giulio Manfredonia.
Promoted by ROMA CAPITALE-Department of Mental Health, ASL RMA-Roma Centro and MAXXI National Museum of XXI Century Arts.
