The archive of Enrico Del Debbio, part of the MAXXI Collection, is the central element of this volume: a rich and multiform patrimony composed of drawings, writings and documents of various kinds that reveal the architect’s artistic training from 1909 onwards and narrate his professional, academic and cultural activity up to 1973, the year of his death. The book consists of a number of previously unpublished contributions including autobiographical notes by Del Debbio himself, a memoir by his daughter Gigliola and critical texts by various authors that focus mainly on the two Roman projects that engaged the Architect most during his career: the Foro Italico and the Faculty of Architecture. Sketches, drawings by the author and historical photos accompany the various contributions, offering a broad and detailed view of Del Debbio’s human and professional career.
