Paolo Portoghesi, one of the most authoritative architectural voices, questions the absence and necessity of architecture criticism in the contemporary press.
Paolo Portoghesi, professor emeritus at the Sapienza University of Rome, architect, historian and first director of the Venice Biennale of Architecture, has contributed significantly to contemporary critical thought both in his capacity as founder of magazines, from the historic Controspazio to the more recent Abitare la Terra, and as curator of critical exhibitions, from Michelangiolo Architetto to La Presenza del Passato.
