One hundred years after the assassination, Funiciello recounts the man and the politician, the militant and the careful, far-sighted, aware leader.
Matteotti’s political and human role remained crushed behind the martyr’s tombstone, painted in the loneliness of an almost too precocious and unsuccessful anti-fascism, distorted by the misleading judgments of some of his coeval admirers such as Gobetti or by the attacks of his Communist adversaries of the time.
