Ten competing Italian documentaries and a jury of experts to award the “Best Italian Documentary of the Year” and assign the “Extra Doc CityFest” award to the best unreleased documentary.
In addition, a jury of students will assign the special “Extra Doc School” award.
The jury of experts will be chaired by director and screenwriter Daniele Luchetti, supported by journalist Pedro Armocida, History of Contemporary Architecture professor Antonella Greco, critic Raffaele Meale, Fondazione MAXXI President Giovanna Melandri and artist and performer Nico Vascellari.
Two awards will be assigned: “Best Italian Documentary of the Year” and “Extra Doc CityFest”, to the best unreleased documentary.
The jury of experts will be joined by Extra Doc School, a jury made up of more than 100 students from schools of the provinces of Rome and L’Aquila who, during the lockdown, under the coordination of Mario Sesti and the tutors of MAXXI ART WORK, selected the best released documentary and the best unreleased documentary.
Cinema at MAXXI is a Fondazione Cinema per Roma/CityFest and Fondazione MAXXI co-production.
Extra Doc School is an initiative realised within the National Cinema Plan for School promoted by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (MiBACT) and the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).
