Landscape with figure. Art, the public sphere and social transformation
presentation of the book edited by Gabi Scardi
and published by Allemandi with SusaCulture
This book deals with the specific aspect of contemporary art that, in validating the project-based approach and constructive intent of the artists, sees in their work a concrete opportunity for contact with reality and a chance for intervention in the public sphere; an opportunity to experiment and propose alternatives to existing models, to respond to the demands of the present evoking a sense of sharing.
A platform for multiple voices, the book is configured as a series of contributions by preeminent artists, theorists and specialists who have displayed a consistent interest in public projects.
The following will be present at the presentation:
Gabi Scardi editor
Catterina Seia Cultural manager SusaCulture
Maria Teresa Alvez and Maria Papadimitriou artists
Anna Mattirolo director of MAXXI Arte
Stefania Vannini head of the Education Department
