As part of the 21st Contemporary Art Day 2025, an initiative by AMACI to promote and enhance Italian contemporary art around the world, MAXXI is hosting the event that concludes the transdisciplinary project IOSONOVULNERABILE, curated by visual and film artist Sergio Mario Illuminato.
The project stems from a six-month residency at the former Papal Prison in Velletri, which has been transformed into a creative laboratory shared by students, technicians and professionals: the short film Vulnerare represents the distillation of this experience. Premiered in Europe in 2024 at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, the film has already received important international awards and transcends the boundaries between documentary and narrative to become a pure visual gesture: a threshold that the viewer crosses with their own body and sensitivity.
