MAXXI and Bulgari together for young art.
MAXXI and Bulgari join together for young contemporary art. Out of this extraordinary partnership comes the MAXXI Bulgari Prize, an evolution of the Premio MAXXI which has launched young talents on the international scene and from today is renewing and transforming itself, expanding its horizons.
The new partnership and the three finalists for the MAXXI Bulgari Prize 2018, chosen by an international jury, will be presented during the Frieze art fair week on Tuesday 3 October at 4:30 pm at the Bulgari Hotel in London (171 Knightsbridge, London SW7 1DW) by Giovanna Melandri, President of the Fondazione MAXXI, and Nicola Bulgari, Vice President of the Bulgari Group.
The jury composed of Hou Hanru Artistic Director at MAXXI, Bartolomeo Pietromarchi Director of MAXXI Arte, David Elliott independent curator, Yuko Hasegawa Artistic Director at MOT in Tokyo and Hans Ulrich Obrist Artistic Director at the Serpentine Galleries in London, will be present on this occasion.
The site-specific works by the short-listed artists will be exhibited at MAXXI from May 2018 in an exhibition curated by Giulia Ferracci. The jury will elect the winner in October 2018, whose work will be acquired by the museum.
FINALISTS
Talia Chetrit (1982, lives and works in New York), Invernomuto (Simone Bertuzzi, 1983 and Simone Trabucchi, 1982, live and work between Vernasca in the province of Piacenza and Milan) and Diego Marcon (1985, lives and works in Paris) are the three finalists of the MAXXI Bulgari Prize!
