MAXXI will be participating in Museum Night, a Europe-wide event promoted by MiBAC that offers free admittance to museums and archaeological areas in the evening and during the night, allowing all those hampered by the usual opening hours to enjoy an exciting and unusual cultural experience.

Architect, craftsman and carpenter, interior and furniture designer, one of the first to create furniture for children: MAXXI is staging the first monographic retrospective in Italy of the work of Gerrit Rietveld (Utrecht 1888 – 1964). On the occasion of the Museums Night, the MAXXI Education department is offering a “Rietveld Workshop’ for families. A guided tour of the exhibition and the construction of the Dutch master’s famous Red and Blue chair in miniature.
