Campo Baeza, Alberto

Born in Valladolid, Alberto Campo Baeza moved to Madrid where he studied architecture and is now the senior lecturer in the Design Department at ETSAM.

His works have obtained widespread recognition. He built the Olnick Spanu House in New York, the Benetton nursery in Treviso and diverse projects around the world. Construction work on the MIA, the Museum of Italian Art in New York, began in 2011.

His most famous book, La Idea Construída (“The Idea Built”) has been reprinted over 20 times. His projects have been exhibited in Mies Van der Rohe’s Crown Hall at IIT in Chicago, the Urban Center in New York, the Palladian basilica in Vicenza, Hagia Irene Istanbul and elsewhere.
