What tools are required to create an exhibition catalogue?
How do you put together an art or architecture book?
From 9 to 13 December 2019 MAXXI will be hosting a course exploring art and architecture
publishing: from the strategies necessary for the creation of a product that responds to the interests of the public to the layout, the editing of the texts and the illustrations, through to the selection of the materials to be used, the choice of critical texts and so on.
The course proposes an investigation of the complex world of publishing through the
involvement of professional figures from the sector: publishers, translators, printers, editors and specialist graphic designers, the lecturers including experts from the publishing</strong companies Humboldt Books, Silvana Editoriale, Lotus, Fondazione Prada and CURA.
The classroom lessons with professionals from the sector will provide participants with an
opportunity to get to know in detail the techniques and strategies that lie behind the production of a book of contemporary art or architecture. Through exercises and simulations, the workshop will give participants the chance to apply the knowledge gained.
