A book that revives the ancient saying ut pictura, poesis – that is at the beginning of the dialogue between painting and poetry – in a wonderful way.
Our tradition believes in the relationship between sister arts and, following this faith, over the centuries painters have been inspired by literary motifs for their compositions; poets tried to evoke images to which only the plastic arts could do justice.
For the readers, the fascination repeats itself with the Franco Marcoaldi’s verses and Marilù Eustachio’s drawings, captured by the light and brilliant stroke of the painter and the material density of the poet’s words. The artist’s marks, which are both airy and grounded at the same time, reverberate on the poet’s text, which reciprocates through musical verses the gift received from those shapes and colours.
