The first film festival curated with the active participation of people with autism and Asperger’s syndrome
The AS Film Festival is returning to MAXXI again this year for its 5th edition: a true international festival of film and visual arts that employs film as and instrument of social inclusion. The selection curated by young people with autism from the NOT EQUAL association has highlighted various themes other than autism: immigration, integration, racism and terrorism with a particular focus on children and adolescents living in difficult contexts.
The programme features 50 works in four sections (Italian, international, animation, autism), selected from 2,500 coming from over 110 countries. Furthermore, the festival promises meetings with the filmmakers, film lectures, a theatrical performance by 20 young people with Asperger’s syndrome and the special participation of BandaJorona.
