Concert by the Ministry of Defence Interforces Band
A special concert on the occasion of the last few days of the exhibition Gli Angeli degli Eroi, the installation by Flavio Favelli dedicated to the memory of the Italian soldiers who have fallen during peace missions.
The work represents a reflection on our recent history: a long list, a simple record, painted on the wall of the museum hall, which recalls commemorative plaques, with the names of over 150 Italian military personnel who have been killed while serving on peace missions in the history of the Republic, from the first victim in 1950 to the present day.
Introduced by
Giovanna Melandri President MAXXI Foundation
Roberta Pinotti Minister of Defence
The minister will be presenting the latest activities of the Ministry of Defence, an exploration of current issues and strategies that will be accompanied by the presence of Favelli’s work at each stage of the ministerial tour.
Flavio Favelli. Grape Juice
The concert will be followed by the presentation of the book-catalogue produced by AlbumArte and Nuova Icona and published by Maretti.
The book recounts the experience of the artist’s residency in Istanbul with AlbumArte and the exhibition he staged in the Main Hall of Galleria Rum Okulu, the old Greek School of Galata, one of the principal sites of the Istanbul Biennale.
