Franco Fontana
MAXXI Auditorium – admittance free while places available
What you see doesn’t exist, what exists is what you photograph: this phrase by Franco Fontana, which provides the title for the event, is the point of departure for reflection on the way in which we relate to reality and the landscape.
The work of the Italian master of colour photography, of which the museum conserves 40 prints, including natural and urban landscapes and American lights and shadows, has ‘dared’ to approach reality by questioning our customary perception.
Can the use of the camera be a synonym for objectivity?
