The artists, among the protagonists of the exhibition 1+1. The relational years, tell the story of a project that arose from encounters and dialogue with the city.
To create Frottage. Un dispositivo socievole, the duo Premiata Ditta (Anna Stuart Tovini, Vincenzo Chiarandà) was guided by suggestions and ideas gathered from conversations with people in the Flaminio neighbourhood. Together with the residents, the artists chose the subjects of their frottages, created by placing large sheets of paper on doors and transferring the traces of wood, locks or wrought iron onto the paper with dark pencils.
The frottage process thus became a sort of performance, during which the history of the places and the stories of the people intermingled. Starting from here, the duo decided to transform the encounter with the public into a moment of sharing and celebration, between the museum lobby and the square, with all the people who, at various times, had been involved in the neighbourhood project.
