An Italian painter and sculptor, one of the principal exponents of Transavanguardia, an artistic movement defined in the early Eighties by Achille Bonito Oliva. Thanks to his technical experimentation, Cucchi is to be considered as one of the few masters of the new generation and, through his close relationships with poets and writers such as Paolo Volponi, Goffredo Parise, Giovvani Testori, Ruggero Guarini and Alberto Boatto, a significant point of reference for the world of illustrated literature. Enzo Cucchi has participated in group and solo shows in the most important Italian and international exhibition spaces such as the Kunsthalle in Basle, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Tate Gallery in London, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and the Castello di Rivoli, appearing in the most significant international contemporary art reviews such as the Venice Biennale, Documenta in Kassel and the Quadriennale in Rome.
