Do you also want to take part in giving life to the new performance by the artist Lin Yilin?
MAXXI is looking for 25 participants who will be invited to a training meeting with the artist at the museum on Monday March 18th at 5:30 p.m.. The appointment is in the museum’s courtyard so as to be brought into the project by its author and, Thursday March 21st at 4:00 p.m., to take part in the The Back performance that will take place in Rome in via della Palombella.
The performance is part of The Street. Where the world is made exhibition, and is an invitation for art and its audience to take to the street.
The performance
The Back stages a dialogue and confrontation between Rome, the cradle of law, and contemporary China with the new Constitution of the People’s Republic of China.
After a first moment in Piazza della Rotonda, the action in which the public is invited to participate will take place behind the Pantheon in via della Palombella.
Thanks to a workshop organised at the MAXXI the days preceding the performance, for this “second act” the artist will prepare a rope made from the intertwining of three paper copies of the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, 50 meters long each and, respectively, in the original language, in Italian and English. Participants will perform tug a ware competitions with this sturdy rope.
