On the occasion of #GDC17, the Museum remains open until midnight. And admission to the senzamargine exhibition is free all day and all evening.
Once again, this year, MAXXI is taking part in Giornata del Contemporaneo (Day of the Contemporary), the major event promoted by AMACI that involves museums, foundations, public and private institutions, galleries, artists’ studios and spaces to narrate the vitality of contemporary art in our country.
On Saturday, free admission to the exhibition senzamargine. Passages in Italian art at the turn of the millennium, with works by nine essential masters of contemporary Italian art, still today a point of reference for the younger generations: Carla Accardi, Luciano Fabro, Luigi Ghirri, Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucchi, Paolo Icaro, Jannis Kounellis, Anna Maria Maiolino, Claudio Parmiggiani and Mario Schifano.
In gallery 1, on the ground floor of the Museum, there is a series of “rooms”, each one dedicated to an artist whose significant installations and essential works from the turn of the millennium are on display, works without a margin, to paraphrase the title of the exhibition.
