A wide range of media used to placate an insatiable curiosity
For the series Auteur Conversations the director of MAXXI Arte, Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, meets the artist Loris Cecchini to explore the stages in his artistic research that have led him to exhibit his work on an international level, with solo shows in prestigious museums including the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Musée d’Art Moderne in Saint-Etienne Métropole, MoMA PS1 in New York, Shanghai Duolun MoMA in Shanghai, the Centro Gallego de Arte Contemporanea at Santiago di Compostela and the Kunstverein in Heidelberg.
Cecchini’s work is based on the use of a wide range of media, from collage to detailed architectural models, from objects in rubber through to reinvented caravans and tree houses: spaces structurally distorted and coverings, prismatic and transparent surfaces.
