An exceptional lecture for an exploration the confine between aesthetics and psychoanalysis
Forms, bodies, images, words: on the confine between inside and outside, psychoanalysis, both as a treatment and a theory, is traversed by the aesthetic dimension, the patrimony of all people and based on perceptive dynamics (aesthesis) that constitute the basis of our experience of the world, in relation to the primary processes of living. From this point of view, aesthetics brings us closer to the values of life and is therefore also an ethical dimension that promotes in analysis care for oneself and other, tracing the path of our existence.
Domenico Chianese, psychoanalyst with a training role at the Società Psicoanalitica Italiana, of which he was the president from 2001 to 2005, is the author of Costruzioni e campo analitico (Borla, 1997), Un lungo sogno (Angeli, 2006 ) and the co-author with Andreina Fontana of Immaginando (Angeli, 2010) and Per un sapere dei sensi (Alpes, 2015), that brings together his extensive research into the relationship between aesthetics and psychoanalysis.
