Describing the very diverse world of mental health through images.
The festival, which has reached its seven year, was born with the aim of using cinema so as to provide a window onto the human mind and enable the audience and the authors to gaze at people who undergo change and treatment, and vice versa.
The prizes
The final night of the festival will see the Jury – whose members are Edoardo Albinati, Maria Sole Tognazzi, Valia Santella, Francesco Borgia and Daniela Pezzi – award the 1,000 euro “Fausto Antonucci” Prize to the best short film and the 1,000 euro Jorge Garcia Badaracco – Fondazione Maria Elisa Mitre” Prize to the best full-length film. Moreover, the festival will award the Lo Spiraglio – Fondazione Roma Solidale onlus Prize to director Paolo Virzì, who has shown great interest in mental health topics. Virzì will take part in an event where he will re-examine films and sequences revolving around mental health problems together with the audience. Sergio Rubini, Sergio Castellitto, Carlo Verdone, Alba Rohrwacher, Marco Bellocchio and Giulio Manfredonia were awarded the prize in previous years.
