Two conferences are being organized within the ambit of the exhibition Modelli/Models (at MAXXI through to 2 April 2013) that present and explore the techniques, the studies and the most advanced research in this important field of architecture.
The first encounter, Analytical readings of projects through virtual models, presents the connections between the traditional drawing and the digital version in the reading and interpretation of architectural archive materials.
Digital representation allows us to analyse and virtually explore unbuilt projects, configuring them in three dimensions so as to offer new perceptions and readings that visualize new architectural spaces. In this sense, virtual models may constitute a valid support for architectural archives, permitting the rediscovery of neglected, alternative and interrupted compositions that materialize and reveal interesting experimentation, as in the case of the two design proposals for Villa Brizzi Simen by Enrico Del Debbio, reconstructed from the original drawings conserved in the MAXXI Architecture Archive.
