Aging parents visit their children who are too busy to spend time with them. A masterpiece that has inspired devotion (Wenders, Jarmusch, Kaurismäki) closer to a cult than mere admiration. The acting of a mysterious serenity that touches lightly on pain, the painstaking construction of space, the time flowing steadily at every moment and with every train contribute to the making of something that resembles an ancient temple to film of a perfect, unknown architecture.
