A film by Claude Barras,
France 2016, 66’, animation
Acclaimed at the last Cannes Festival, La mia vita da Zucchina is a stop-motion animated jewel directed by Claude Barras and writted by Céline Sciamma, the director of cult films such as Tomboy. The protagonist is a nine-year-old boy nicknamed Courgette who following the death of his mother is sent to live in a group home: thanks to the friendship of a group of children of a similar age, including the sweet Camille, he manages to overcome every trial, finally embracing a new life. Barras and Sciamma have created a poetic work of great originality, voted Best Animated Feature at Annecy and considered to be an Oscar® 2017 outsider.
