Nelle città si ritrovano, tradotte nello spazio, tutte le contrapposizioni politiche, sociali ed economiche del mondo contemporaneo. Ma quali sono le storie che una città è in grado di raccontare e come si può ripensare la nostra relazione con lo spazio urbano?
La rassegna è un viaggio ideale in sette tappe tra luoghi reali e immaginari. Un racconto in cui ciascuno può trovare il proprio inizio, e dove, come nel libro di Calvino da cui prende il titolo, non vi è una gerarchia tra le varie parti. Le opere selezionate rivelano la capacità degli artisti di comprendere e rielaborare la sematica urbana immaginando visioni e proposte alternative che riflettono le rapide e radicali trasformazioni delle metropoli contemporanee.
L’esplorazione di questa complessa stratificazione è restituita attraverso i desideri, le domande e le angosce con cui ci confrontiamo quotidianamente, nella speranza di ritrovare l’orientamento o, se non altro, di costruirci un rifugio.
La rassegna è aperta martedì 21 maggio da una conversazione tra l’artista Iván Argote e il curatore Leonardo Bigazzi.
