a film by Luigi Barletta
Italy 2018, 55’
Repertoire, archive, enquiries and investigations bring to light the myth of the “Toro del Pallonetto”, aka Joe Esposito who, unbeknownst to almost everyone, played a part in boxing history. Thanks to the revelations of a Camorra informer, we are now able to reconstruct the rugged story of this protagonist, overwhelmed (injustly?) by the betting scandal, but ever ready to face any adventure or challenge life threw up. An inventive, hectic mockumentary examining the history of Naples and perhaps that of Italy too
Film ar MAXXI is a Fondazione Cinema per Roma/CityFest e Fondazione MAXXI coproduction.
