The Independent a three-year project devoted to the promotion of independent groups working in Italy and abroad.
The first stage, at MAXXI from 26 June to 12 October 2014, sees two Italian groups in the spotlight: CURA. and Isola Art Center, with projects conceived specifically for the museum.
New creative and independent groups will thus have an opportunity to present their activities, interpreting the museum space through new display modes enriched by talks, performances and lectures.
OPEN CALL
MAXXI is opening its doors to groups, associations and independent space that would like to participate in this national call for the special project The Independent which intends to map and shed light on the currency and the centrality of independent structures as a source of wealth and development for the creation of alternative cultural and social models to the traditional dynamics of “making culture” in Italy.
WHO IS IT FOR
The call is open to all those Italian groups that share an independent cultural space, physical or virtual, devoted to the improvement of Italian society, to research and investigation of issues associated with architecture, art, film, dance, design, geopolitics, music, performance, town planning, the web and the most diverse sectors.
QUANDO
The calls is open from 25 June to 30 September 2014.
