An open conversation about how Rome continues to feed the collective imagination, between historical legacies and new perspectives.

The landscapes of the Eternal City occupy a central role in the global collective imagination. The exhibition Rome in the World compares the capital with other major cities, bringing out the images and perceptions they evoke. The roots and persistence of the imagination, formed during the Grand Tour, are intertwined with space, geography and urban history. Today, in the academies and institutes of foreign cultures still active in the city, new perspectives are being developed that are capable of interpreting the contemporary world and rethinking the capital together with the rest of the world.
