A meeting that, starting from Marina Caneve’s photographic work, opens a conversation on ways of observing and interpreting the contemporary urban landscape.

In her work, Marina Caneve observes the city as an unstable organism, traversed by historical, natural and political stratifications. From the Muraglioni del Tevere to the quarries of Tivoli, from Malagrotta to Corviale, marginal but revealing places emerge, inhabited by plants, animals and human traces. A visual narrative that depicts a vast, ambiguous and constantly changing capital city. Photography becomes a tool for critical investigation: it does not describe Rome, but questions the very idea of “natural”, of centre and periphery.
