Workshops, talks and food to discover the new green face of the museum square and kick off our summer at MAXXI with music.

Fifteen species of trees and shrubs and twenty species of herbaceous plants, typical of the Mediterranean area, now inhabit Piazza Alighiero Boetti. The mastermind behind these green initiatives is Bas Smets, a landscape architect renowned for an approach to landscape design that integrates aesthetics, climate and sustainability.

The project forms part of the Grande MAXXI masterplan, the museum’s expansion and regeneration plan designed by the LAN studio.

the programme:

The stories of the plants: a storyteller leads a walk around the new flowerbeds to bring the neighbourhood’s new inhabitants – the plants – to life
