MAXXI turns 15!celebrate the Museum's birthday with us
Together with the artist and the exhibition’s curators, the event includes the participation of philosopher Felice Cimatti to explore the different ways contemporary society transforms in relation to our digital bodies.
In her work, Irene Fenara investigates and interprets the way machines ‘look’. In particular, the artist focuses on the mechanical gaze of surveillance cameras, devices introduced for reasons of control and security that trigger a series of contradictions. On the occasion of the exhibition Digital Antibodies, Fenara presents the video work Struggle for Life☉, which, usable on the smartwatches of the room attendants, invites us to reflect on the mechanism of contemporary surveillance and the individual freedom with which it can be curbed.
