To discuss the initiatives carried out under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. With this aim in mind, the conference “The PNRR for cultural sites. Results and prospects for accessible heritage”, to be held in Rome on 22 and 23 June, is promoted by the Directorate-General for Museums of the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with MAXXI, the National Museum of 21st-Century Arts.

The event, scheduled for 22 June at the Central Institute for Graphic Arts and on 23 June at the MAXXI, is dedicated to presenting the projects carried out, the strategies adopted and the results achieved through PNRR investments allocated to “ Removal of physical and cognitive barriers in museums, libraries and archives to enable wider access to and participation in culture” and “Improving energy efficiency in cinemas, theatres and museums”.

Organised to mark the conclusion of the relevant measures under the Plan, the conference will provide an important opportunity for discussion and public feedback on one of the most significant large-scale investment initiatives carried out within the National Museum System and in Italy’s cultural venues.

It will also provide an opportunity to share the experiences and best practices developed across the more than 800 public and private institutions involved, and to reflect on the future prospects for accessibility, inclusion and energy sustainability within Italy’s cultural heritage.
