MAXXI Piazza – free activity
Declare your love of reading on the occasion of the World Book and Copyright Day
As in the finale of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, on a prearranged signal everyone will start reading their book out loud. Why don’t you take part in the Flash Book Mob too!
Where?
The MAXXI Piazza. A pole and a pile of books, donated by the museum’s library, will mark the spot at which we shall be meeting.
How?
Bring your favourite book with you. At 18.45 on the dot the signal will be given: a voice with a megaphone will announce ”Buona lettura a tutti!” The Flash Book Mob begins! Open your book and read it out loud. Five minutes later a second signal will bring the event to a close: clap hard!
Who?
Any one is welcome to take part, anyone, of any age!
The MAXXI Piazza will thus be transformed into a set on which dozens of people, all with their favourite books in their hands, will become protagonists in the event.
At the end of the reading those who wish will be able to leave their book in a corner of the museum, allowing the text to continue to speak to whoever subsequently picks it up.
