Villa Farinacci, Viale Rousseau 90, Rome – free entrance
Artistic performances, music, workshops, lectures: a rich programme of events animates Villa Farinacci
After more than 20 years, the restored historic spaces within Villa Farinacci, in the heart of Petroselli Park in Rome, will come back to life thanks to MOVE THE MUSEUM! When Water Touches the Ground, the Festival of visual, performance and multimedia arts.
The project for the Festival, presented by MAXXI together with the Roerso Mondo Cultural Association and ZIP_Zone d’Intersezione Positiva, won the S’Illumina competition supported by SIAE – the Italian copyright collecting agency -, and its aim is to give visibility to and activate the creativity of the local area, connecting the various realities that cohabit the neighbourhood, becoming a laboratory of cultural co-design for Municipality IV, which has actively supported the project.
THE FESTIVAL
The core of the Festival is the artistic project Spettri curated by Giulia Gelmini, the young winner of an open call for curators under 35 that was launched in July. The call’s aim was to choose a previously unseen exhibition to entrust to artists or collectives, also under 35, resident in Italy. The project presents the works of Enrico Boccioletti, Andrea Magnani and the collettivo DITTO,
designed specifically for the spaces of the villa: a role-playing game, an antenna that translates radio signals into images, the actions of a group of phantom actors, all works that play with immateriality, emptiness and memory, allowing the villa’s history to come back to life through the activation of its spaces.
But that’s not all: from the 22nd to the 30th of September, Villa Farinacci will be animated by concerts, workshops, events, readings and much more.
