Now in its third edition, do ut do is a container for initiatives promoted by the Association of Friends of the Fondazione Hospice Seràgnoli which has the aim of raising funds to support the care and treatment of patients affected by incurable illnesses.
For the 2016 edition Alessandro Mendini as created the do ut do home, the rooms of which have been styled by leading architects and designers.
Every two years do ut do proposes events devoted to the arts and the areas of excellence of Italian culture, bringing together institutions, businesses and collectors: following a first edition focussing on contemporary art and that of 2014 dedicated to design, the third edition – with the patronage of Dario Fo, Noble Prize winner for literature in 1997 – is based on the creation of the do ut do of Alessandro Mendini, , the rooms of which have been styled by among others Michele De Lucchi, Daniel Libeskind and Renzo Piano, and devoted to the values and the elements that make up the most profound meaning of a home, a community, a city, a country.
The home has been created in digital form using a virtual 3D navigation system and an immersive system with special virtual reality visors. In the rooms styled by the architects and designers there are works of contemporary art and unique design pieces donated to the Fondazione Hospice Seràgnoli: all the works will be assigned via a prize draw to those who help support the activities of the Fondazione Hospice Onlus.
