A tribute to the great Sicilian writer on the centenary of his birth.
The documentary Camilleri sono… retraces the places dearest to the writer and the complexity of his character through the stories of those who were close to him. Thanks to anecdotes, testimonies, materials preserved in the Camilleri Fund, unpublished footage made available by the family, images from the Rai archives and various interviews, a portrait of a man in all his dimensions emerges: husband, father and grandfather, but also an authentic intellectual, capable of living deeply in contact with people.
The story goes beyond the literary and television success linked to Inspector Montalbano, reconstructing Camilleri’s entire human and creative universe, showing how deeply rooted his identity was in his homeland and how his work was fuelled by a profound sense of cultural and civic belonging.
