Published on the occasion of the MAXXI Bvlgari Prize exhibition, the volume documents the work of the finalist artists Giulia Cenci, Tomaso De Luca and Renato Leotta, with previously unpublished texts and images dedicated to the projects on show. In addition to contributions by Director Pietromarchi and curator Giulia Ferracci, the book also includes essays by the Prize’s jurors and texts by art historians, moments of in-depth analysis that contextualise the work of the selected artists. The result is a compelling fresco of our contemporary world: Giulia Cenci’s hybrid beings, Tomaso De Luca’s “uncovered” houses in motion, and the suspended time portrayed in Renato Leotta’s videos describe a fluid and nostalgic world, a panorama in the making in which everything has already happened and man must accept his condition of survivor.
