in collaboration with Municipio II
A reading-performance telling the story of Rome in the years from 1938 to 1945 and to not forget
The places of memoryis the conclusive moment of a project, promoted by the “Vittorio Alfieri” 1st level Secondary School of Rome, which has united the geographical and historical-cultural dimensions through the language of theatre. Starting with the places of memory in Rome – the Porticus Octaviae, the Synagogue, the Military College, Tiburtina Station – the students have gathered materials, first-hand testimonies, historical documents, personal reflections and the stories of their grandparents and acquaintances who lived through those years to recount one of the darkest chapters our recent history. The objective of the project is, in fact, that of stimulating reflection and emotions among young people, who frequently know little about those years blighted by racial persecution, and to observe together the Holocaust Remembrance Day.
A poetic journey in which the young people “lend their voice” to those who were subjected to Nazi persecution
